Sorry, I've been meaning to get back to this post. Yes it came Saturday. He started installing last night & ran into problems. He got an error last night that the CD key is already in use. If I have time I will try it today, but I have 2 appointments, so I'm not sure. I've defragged all drives and ran check disk, hoping to work on this later.

I'm sending you an email with the email from Steam....

Steam has detected that your copy of Half-Life 2 Retail Standard has already
been registered to another Steam user. Your product's CD-Key (the number printed
on the CD case which you were asked to type in after installing the game)
matches one already in our database.

Right now I'd like to think of it as an honest mistake until I hear otherwise. Hubby would like to play his game & can't do anything with it. Hopefully scweennaem will get back to me.

Everything has been worked out. We were sent the wrong envelope / cd key. Once he gave us the other cd key he had, Steam accepted it & we were good to go.

I had a feeling something like this happened after doing a little research today, that's why I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I figured if anything it was the guy he got it from (what a jerk btw) It was also on my mind how he posted to ask that we got it- if he was trying to scam, he wouldn't have done that.

Hey scweennaem, can I give you feedback on your ebay acct? I saw you didn't have any as a seller & would like to help you out if I can.

Thank you for fixing this.

A very popular feedback system for online forum trading is Heatware. This thread brings up a good opportunity to mention it, and to encourage both of you to register if y'all haven't done so yet.

good work detective... Hey i was really worried though cause you help me out alot with my computer and the last thing i need was you thinkin i was trying to burn you. i remmeber stuff like that and you didnt respond back that night so i thought i got burned and passed it on to you without knowing, as you know i got the copies from seperate people so i wouldnt have known if it was probably bad...oh, well all is well know and hope you enjoy the game as much as i did but be warned that the multiplayer will be the biggest part of it as i burned through the single player pretty quick...

So what do you say, do you want to sign up for this service?
