Samsung TV, 25" I think. Died one day, just turns on and shows horizontal line in middle of screen, cant do anything else. Someone might want it for parts for something. Only a few years old.

I know what the problem is with that, but I gotta look it up when I get home from work, I may even have a solution for it too in one of my electronic books.

Shit, I forgot about this last night. Forgot to log on when I got home, it was after midnight anyway, needed some sleep.

I'm back at work again, but hopefully I'll remember this when I get home, bump this thread around 10 pm for me if anyone is online then and sees this.

Okay I found the problem.

Your TV has a collapsed vertical raster, sometimes also referred to as a vertical sweep failure.

If you're got a TV repair store in the area they may be able to fix it.

They can test it by injecting a test signal into the vertical stages, if the picture expands partially or fully, the circuits from the injectio point to the output stage are good. If the sweep does not expand, you'll need to test the output componants, or test the deflection yoke coils.

Just got done watching National Treasure, lol. Thanks for the tip, ill write this down, find a tv repair guy and see what they think.
