Might want to take a look at the hostway ad. It is a popover ad that forces the user to click close. Ads I can deal with, popovers are FAIL!

That tried to attack me yesterday. I spit on it.

Now the top half of my screen is useless.

I just left work and got to school so I had to log in at a new computer. That damned ad got me when I loaded the page, again when I loaded the login page, and one last time after I logged in when loaded the index.

Every computer should have FireFox with AdblockPlus on it shouldn't they?

But Demand-Click ad's suck. I've stopped going to websites before, back when AdBlock didn't work too well, because of Demand-Click ad's. Those ad's will probably cost the site some traffic too.

Yep .. I stopped going to jpmagazine.com for that reason. The homepage requires you to click a tiny [x] to get passed a subscription nag. The really annoying thing is that I HAD a subscription when they started using that ad. I let it lapse before moving to Vancouver.

I could do all of that with a better browser if I wanted, but I'd rather help the site out with ad revenue. Just not the shitty kind. ;)

Heh, I've seen plenty of editors at MaxPC tell people in this forum to use FF if they didn't like the ad's.

If you guys block the ads, it's really hard for us to continue putting great content on the site. We're working on some other stuff for people who are annoyed by the ads, but still want to support us.

In the meantime, I had our ad ops people pull that ad from the rotation. Basically, we have a third-party provider of ads. We set specific rules (no popups, no popovers, etc), but sometimes the ads are mislabeled and still sneak through. We just have had a rash of them lately.

I can't win anything :( The German ads don't bother me. They're cheap entertainment. I never know what to expect.

The video was a tease. They need to show behind the scenes, uncensored, girls gone wild clips.

More skin needed.

Things must be getting tight. This stuff needs to go. If I start buying apple crap I'm not going to be able to afford MPC anymore.

TECHMART :?

In that case, I will unblock MPC. I certainly want to contribute to the site in any way that I can.

Yes, seriously.
