I received an advertisment for GoToMeeting from Mac|Life Promotions today. At the bottom it says I am subscribed to the Mac Life newsletter. I'm not subscribed to the Mac Life newsletter but I am subscribed to the MaxPC newsletter. Anyone else get this?

Now that I am thinking about the newsletter. I don't remember getting a MaxPC newsletter recently.

Big...it's related...but this was a direct email from Mac|Life Promotions <promotions@maclife.com>. They've been advertising in the podcast, but this is beyond being promoted though. This is a direct mailing that we didn't sign up for.

I know, I got one too. But Will gave an explanation in that other post I linked to, and it should apply to this as well.

Ahh just saw that post by Will. I understood the emails from the promotions@maximumpc.com, but I never thought it would be directly from their partners.

I did see that other thread. I brought this up because this email was from Mac Life telling me that I am subsribed to their newsletter when I am not.

I understand that both mags are under Future and that their system that manages their mailing lists for sending the newsletters and advertisements are obviously the same. I just wanted to make sure it happened to others and to bring it to their attention so they can fix it if there is a problem. I'm sure someone just made a stupid mistake of clicking the wrong thing in the mailing list admin.
