I have a friend whos a licensed pilot, I'll see what his rates are for you.
You get an avatar at 100 posts or thereabouts, but if once you get there and still don't have on but feel you shoudl, PM NumberSix and ask.

Frankly I really do not know what is the big deal about having an avator. It is a status symbol for some to have. I am not social climbing here on this forum so I really do not really care if I get one or not.

I am just here to read and post if I want to.

Agreed, but I see it as another form of personal expression/communication. It's an opportunity to say something about yourself. I suppose limiting it's access is a way to give incentive to post well and/or more often. In some cases (F@H) it's also used to encourage other types of positive behavior, and I suppose conversely could be used as a punishment for bad conduct as well.

An avatar is akin to picking out what clothing we wear. It's nice to have the personalization as opposed to just a nick. It's also easy to recognize members, as I can see in the corner of my eye an avatar saying "Woo Woo!" and I know it's Athlon11 posting, or see a Starbucks coffee and know Tuay is around, or see a monkey playing in a pile of bananas and know that the thread has taken a drastically different direction ;)

I had so many problems logging in on here because of trying to login using IE that I really did not really care wheather or not I had an avator anyway'

I know I have some on other forum but it is mainly to let other know I human but I want die if I do not have one.

You know it says if you have problems logging in contact the local administration but you can't because you are not logged in.

A real catch 22.

If they can fix that I would be happy. I will get my own when they ask me too or think I need one or let the big guy pick one..

Do not really mind one way or another.
