Still having intermittent cookie problems.

I can log in for a while, then when I come back I
can't stay logged in unless I delete the cookies, then
again only for a day or two until it happens again.

Could be just me, but if it isn't, maybe someone can look into this?

Hasn't happened in a few days now.

Win XP Pro SP2 IE7 & FF2 at work
Win XP Pro SP2 FF2 at home

I would also like to take this opportunity to request a brighter orange color combination for the forums. I've become immune to the existing colors and would ask that they be 'beefed' up some. Thanks.

Can you try isolating whether it's the PHPBB side or the drupal (main site) side that's the problem?

First, clear your cookies for *.maximumpc.com cookies.

Then, if you usually log in from the forums, go to www.maximumpc.com and log in there. If you usually log in from the main site, log in from the forum link instead.

Try that for a few days and let me know how it goes.

FWIW, I usually log in from the homepage, and haven't had the forum problem at all. I wonder if when you log in from one or the other, it's overwriting the phpbb cookie that stores all your read/not read info.

I tried it my normal way (logging in from forums), and after clearing cookies logging in from the main home page.

Haven't had a problem with either in many days now, so not sure what the issue was.

If it starts up again, I'll do the above and post back.

Danke!

Think I jinxed myself, happened again just a minute or two ago.
Exited, deleted maximumpc.com cookie, then logged in through the main site page. I'll post back if there are more issues.

Why thank you. I found it in one of our family photo albums, it's uncle
George. So in loving memory of, I am using his graduation picture from
the 3rd grade as my avatar.

On a completely unrelated note; the cookies/staying logged in is still goofy.

But, Goofy is a dog. He was doing Minnie and Mickey used that as grounds in the divorce.

More on topic I have had no problems with cookies and login. I use a Toshiba laptop, Vista sp1, and Firefox 3. I also use one of the Stylish scripts from Jips tutorial on how to get rid of the garish colors used in the new site make over.

Still funky. Must delete cookies before I can log in, then it's good from anywhere from an hour or two to a couple days.

'dats cuz the site hates you! :P

I, on the other hand, have been having better luck. I used to have issues when I logged in on different computers, home, work, lappy, etc. But it seems to be getting better. Used to be everything was marked as read when I went to a new machine but now that is not happening.

'tings are getting better. :)

Not sure if this is related but......
When I hit the link for MPC I get the home page but there aren't any links at the top of the page for stuff like the forums. I have to add /forums to the home page url to get here.
Recent change or something else?

Found them. They are now at the bottom of the main page.
Why? Huh? Come on, just why?
