It's doing it again. The categories where there are unread threads are marked, but when I open them the threads themselves are not marked. Happened as soon as I logged in. What a pain in the drain... :(

Happened again for me as well.

This time it's on IE 6.

I'm on a business trip and this is the PC that's provided for outside use at the work site.

Yeah, it's still happening on my end as well.

Last time I logged in was July 3rd... today, all post from July 4th and 5th are already marked as read. I can use the timestamp to know if I'v 'been there' or not, but the old way was easier lol.

What else, other than removing cookies, could I be missing on my end?

I don't think it is you. I think there is an error somewhere in the upgrade.

I've asked our Internet guys to look into it, but we need to be able to replicate the problem on our end to troubleshoot it. Also, everyone nuked all their *.maximumpc.com cookies right?

Yes.

My issue is that the first response I make to a thread after initial log in, I get an error on the post page that says INVALID FORM... I hit submit again, and everything posts correctly but it marks the entire forum and all subsections as read.

I thought that was common knowledge. kekeke

IE7 with IE7Pro installed. And the wacky thing is, it only happens once. I can duplicate it every morning, but not after that. I'll get detail tomorrow morning when it happens again.

Is that when you reboot? If it is your rebooting that causes the problem, we can isolate the problem to your side. If you leave your PC on, then something happens on the server side that your client side doesn't like for some reason .. that'll be tricky to track down.

Indeed.

That is why I said it was wacky, because I never shut my rig down, ev0rs...

In fact, I often leave the browser up, though log out of the forum and close the applicable tab (but that should not distort cookies any differently than leaving the page up logged out).

It is wacky, and since the bug happens on the first post, yet allows you to click submit again and the post sticking, I fear that it is happening to many others and they just haven't seen what is causing it yet.

I'd be more than happy to have someone on Will's team log into a webinar I could host so the event could be demonstrated.

This is one of those things tha'ts going to be real tough to replicate. It's happened to me a few times but I can't pinpoint a "reason". I'll enter the forum, go to the first category (usually "help me buy...") and peruse there. Then, when I get back out to the index, it will show the othere categories with unread threads in them. However when I click on one of these categories, the unread threads inside will not be marked as such and I have to use the date stamps to figure out which ones are unread. I'm on xp-pro and ff3.0. Oh, and yes, I've nuked my cookies more than once. Even ran ccleaner.

Just happened again.

Logged into the Forum, saw all the un-marked threads, read two in this folder and now all are marked as read.

Deleted cookies for IE7 as SM instructed on page 1.

Specs:
IE7
Win XP Pro, SP2

Could it have something to do with the upgrade being geared toward Vista and FF#?

Confuzzling :?

Here is the actual error I receive each morning on my first post that nukes unread indicators.

"Invalid Session. Please resubmit the form."

It happened to me the day of the upgrade, but not since then.

Interesting...

Today I logged in, went to the break room, and made two successful responses without issue. Then on my third response, it happened again.

This is going to be hard to identify.

Note: The third response was to a thread that did not exist last time I was logged in.

That's what I've been noticing.

Log in and see all the threads that are unread.

Go into a folder, read a thread, go back and still see unread threads.

Read a second one, go back and still see unead threads.

Third time, everything gets marked as read!

Three strikes and we're out?

Also, noticed this last night: I get an email notification anytime someone posts in a thread after I do. ALL, except this one. I have yet to be notified when someone posts in this thread.

New issue? :?

This is insane.

It got me on the very first reply today. Again it was a thread that did not exist yesterday.

We may have a pattern brewing here. Tomorrow I will go to old threads first and then to a new one and see if that is the trigger.

Okay, this is weird...

I've clicked on several threads and I'm not getting the "All Posts Marked As Read" problem, thangy.

However:

SM's post should have activated the notification.
This is the only one that didn't show up in my email! :?

Edit:

Didn't get the notification from a post I made in the Free Clinic last night!

Yeah, this is a new one!
