so, i cant get my style to post up...in the place where it gives you the option to upload, it has "visit this styles site"...i started with a theme from

The original subSilver Theme for phpBB version 2+
Created by subBlue design
http://www.subBlue.com

and then tweaked it to my liking...it isnt MPC colors, but i like it...and it only works well on the forums, not main page...

here is the code:

Code:

I know its not perfect but I will keep working on it. Oh and please make suggestions, I'll try to fix what I can.

As for the top links, I ended up just removing that line from the style and it uses the default white and grey colors.

Remove these lines (assuming you are starting from some of the other styles previously posted):
Code:
a:link,a:active,a:visited { color : #0000FF ! important; } //color for all hyperlinks outside of posts

a:hover      { text-decoration: underline ! important; color : #FF0000 ! important; } //color of hyperlinks outside posts when hovering over with cursor

Great work, Someguy. :) I'm using yours now.

I know it would only work for me, I didn't try to say it would work for you :)

The "Home, News, Reviews..." set of links still appears orange when you hover over it, so I would still like to change that if possible.

Nebbu, to post a style, you have to go here then click "upload a style you've created".
Then login with an OpenID or userstyles login, or create one. Then when you get to the page that asks the info you put your descriptions in, and paste your entire style into the section labeled CSS.

I posted your style nebbu

Jip, maybe you can edit your original post to include all the new styles? That way when anybody views this thread they can easily find the styles?

Great idea .. it is done. I also added the link to the hex color codes that Don provided in the HOW-TO hack section to make it easier for people to produce new styles. :)

Also, you can manage installed styles quickly with the stylish button on the bottom right-hand corner of FF. Just left click the little notepad looking icon and you can turn different styles on and off instantly.

Based on some of those articles, and if I am understanding them correctly, you can't apply styles for specific web sites like you can with firefox/stylish. Any style sheet you load into IE will apply to all web pages.

I could be wrong on that...

IE7 Pro might let you do it.

I started looking last night for an IE solution as there are complaints in the folding forum. This is the best I found so far.

From your third link, this part looks promising:
Quote:
Beyond add-on it acts like a platform on which user can run there own scripts (like GreaseMonkey), styles (like UserStyles) and plugins (like firefox extensions)

Alternately, it may be simpler to just fix your monitor calibration. If your monitor is even close to properly calibrated, the orange isn't particularly bright.

But Will, you gave a new toy to a bunch of geeks and we are going to get everything we can out of it. Besides it is a good way to learn about codes and such and see what they do. :D We can also use this all over the interwebs.

I would like to add that Stylish can get mixed up. If you have installed multiple styles make sure that only one is selected in Stylish's options (in the "Manage Styles" window). I had a lot of them checked and the results were far from pleasant.

That's a good point.

Using the icon in the bottom right corner of your browser makes this particular 'bug' annoying ... it only allows you to make one change and then you have to go back to the icon. Annoying, but if you don't know that you have to uncheck competing styles, you'll end up with many of them conflicting as you've mentioned.

Though, since you can modify many different sites and apps with this extension, it makes sense to allow more than one script. If you had to define many different scripts in a single form, that'd get ugly and very cumbersome.

User beware!

That's definitely true. Mucking around with Stylish and reverse engineering stylesheets is a great way to figure out how stylesheets work.

You guys should install Firebug. It lets you change the CSS and display changes on the fly. That will make developing the new stylesheets really easy.
