Newegg's forums link lists the follwing:

• AnandTech
• Cyber Tech
• Free PC Tech
• Hardware Central
• HFT Online
• Official Corsair Memory Support
• PC911
• PC Mechanic
• Sharkyextreme
• Suggest A Fix
• Tek-Tips
• Tom's Hardware Guide Community

[Ch]ams, if you think it'd be a good idea, consider contacting them to see if we could be added to the list. We're definitely capable of fulfilling their description:
"Internet forums can be helpful to novice and advanced users alike, providing a channel for open discussion of an infinite number of computer-related issues."

I dunno how good an idea this would be... We don't have many people that frequent here and only a handful of people with true in-depth knowledge.

That handful of people more than make up for the post-whores who just want to hang around running up their post count.

Since when are they a problem? The problem is if the noobs outnumber the knowledgeable tpyes by too much, the forum is crippled.

Things are fine as is. I'd rather not turn this into an AOLer forum by the influx of "does this processor work in this mobo?" tpye questions that would follow.

Go to the forums listed above and you'll see that by and large, they are not influxed with AOLers. Exposure is a good thing, we're here to help.

im still not sure why everyone worships this place(newegg i mean) , i still dont see anything there i cant find cheaper somewhere else. most of the time the prices suck. sounds like a free plug to an advertiser to me

Funny, my experiences have always been the exact opposite. Go figure.

Watch for specials on Newegg. Besides that the service is great and it's nice to know that you will actually get what you ordered.

Its about service and transaction satifaction. If you have a problem with an order at newegg, you don't get all the hoops that other places give ya. Plus, you normally don't have a problem.

Anyways, why not give a free plug (as long as we get one as well)?

Exactly. If anything, it'd be a free plug for MaxPC, as we'd be on their site and not the other way around. With the extreme popularity Newegg enjoys, the exposure would likely lead to new subscribers.

Yep and sometimes you get double of what you order......bastards knew I wouldn't return that extra SATA HD and OCZ Gold memory when I had it in my hot little hands..... they preyed on my weaknesses and won...bastards

hmmm. OK i'll buy the free plug especially if its for max pc 9which i do cherish and respect a lot. but lookin at pricewatch newegg has a 80% approval rating and reading through it almost all the complaints are about the customer service.
but this is always relative, every buyer will not have the same experience with the same seller and well ya 80% is high i like it alittle closer to 90% or above, and according to reseller rating (which gives them a 9.7 (out of ten) most of the complaints are talking about in the last few months the customer service is starting to go down hill.
sure a special buy is a great thing but you cant always wait around and HOPE what you want (or need today) will come up on sale.
so i still say Except for the sales, i can find it cheaper somewhere else
Example: last month i replaced a friends CPU with a XP3000 barton core and fan for 105.00 this same chip without fan is STILL 130.00 at newegg. but hey i like my places and hold nothing against anyone for supporting the ones they like

yea, but I had to pay for it twice too......bastards.......they did it on purpose
knowing I wouldnt return it because of my weaknesses when it comes to hardware ......GRRRRRRRRRR  But anyway, try to get our forum on the list. We need folders BAD. We may fall out of the top ten folding teams by years end!!!!!!!

No, I started this thread as a suggestion to [Ch]ams at his discretion. I don't want to speak on MaxPC's behalf, though I can't possibly see how the exposure would be a bad thing.
