Can we please loosen up the time limit on the forums,
at least for editing our own posts? I post, notice errors
(I have large hands that don't fit well and end up making
st00pid mistakes all the time), and try to fix by hitting the
edit button only to be told that it is too soon.

Is it really a problem here on the forums that
we need such a restriction?

Thanks

The "You cannot make another post so soon after your last; please try again in a short while." screen?

PCG Forums (part of MPC, runs on phpBB) also has the same thing. Check out this thread also.

Yeah, the Zillion thread is gone so we don't really have to worry about flooding anymore :)

I don't run into it ever, but if it is the case for some, theres not much of a reason it couldn't be throttled back a bit?

There is a reason for the time limit.

That said, I didn't think it had an editing time out on it. If so, I can already think of the reason for that to.

Its not designed to give you guys grief - but it needs to be there.

One thing you might try is to re-read your posts before you hit the post key, or use preview. Its not perfect, but it will help.

Manta

PS - if its happening to you all the time, then something might be wrong. Its only happened to me once or twice.

Up until just this past week it never happened to me. I type too damn slow for it to make an impact. Thats why I figured someone has been twiddling with the settings. I know why any other forum would have the settings, and I didn't say for them to go away, just loosened up by a dozen seconds or so.

Again, has spamming become an issue on these forums where it needs to be set like it is? I hadn't noticed it if it has.
