Okay, a lot of people are talking about an ignore function and several other forum options not readily available in phpBB. For $164, definitely affordable by this large corporation, you can get the very powerful vBulletin.

Second issue: new template. While the site looks nice and simple (which is good), the template does not match the futuristic and techy theme the name "MaximumPC" implies. Just a thought.

Personally I'm a huge fan of phpbb from a user standpoint and an administrative standpoint.

it's up to the admin if they want to use enable certain parts of the forum, like having sigs enabled/disabled.

vBulletin sucks fat sweaty ass. The functionality is backwards and the code is slow.

We're on PHPBB for the time being. At some point in the future, we'll probably make the shift to something a little more fully featured.

I'm not going to switch to anything that's slower than PHPBB if I have anything to say about it though.

Will, if we ever switch to Jive, I'll have to personally fly out to SFB and torch the lab.

I'm really digging IPB over at CheatPlanet.
