No one is reviving dead threads, threads consist of multiple posts, if it's unanswered, it's not a thread, it's a single post waiting for a response.

We're simply doing some housecleaning in the unanswered posts bin.

Deletion would ahve been a better method for some of the older ones though.

I think if my post about Rieser4 and wanting to try it went unanswered for five months it's pretty safe to say I don't need an answer now.

I Bumped a few, but not ones that were that old I don't think.

We were asked to try to cleanout the unanswered posts bin. It includes many good posts that simply slipped down and didn't get seen by many folks. Especially in high traffic areas.

The side effect is that a few older posts may have gotten bumped. That said - I noticed by coincidence that a number of very old posts got bumped by folks who didn't know what the [PC] were doing. So I gots ta wonder if the fact that we were simply viewing older posts raised them up on the page and others saw them and replied - not knowing how old they were. One of my unanswered posts from a bit back suddenly got a reply by a non-[PC] member.

ANyways - I know its a tad annoying, but I don't see the big deal if its not intensional and rampent.

I didn't mean the threads that you guys are clearing out of the Unread messages queue. What I was concerned about were the threads that had replies that random people with three posts were bumping from February.

Well, I *think* that when an old thread is viewed it may raise it in the que. That may cause newbies to think its fair game when it is old.

I only post 'cuz it might impact how I do certain post clearing stuff in the future.

Does just viewing a post bump it a bit?

If so, I gotta change a book mark!

I've never noticed that viewing a thread gives it any kind of bump. I could just be stupid though

Well Gram,

I think I am wrong. All viewing it does is change the icon to "popular".

*shrug*
