Please do something about that hair growth ad on the home page! I don't know if anyone else has a problem with it, but the ad makes the page take forever to load if you're on dial-up and once you accidentally mouse over the ad, the expanded window won't go away! Maybe I'm blind, but I don't see a box to close it.

I know it's no big deal to just reload the browser, but I guess the guy's goofy face makes it worse.

The Close is in the lower right corner

Still, not sure that ad really need to be there at all.

go directly to the forums website instead of going to the www.maximumpc.com website then to the forums link.

Exactly. I stopped fudging around with the homepage long ago.

I would expect Maxpc to be able to afford a website w/o ads, what gives?

I see the close box now, but it takes forever to get to that window. The ad is loading something beforehand that takes a very long time. Even after I close the window, I have to reload the page in order to click on any articles. The browser just sits on "Reading *some ip address*."

Firefox and AdBlock are wonderful, wonderful things. Especially with a premade blacklist.

Thanks, I have it adblocked it at home. It's just that my work computer is on dial-up and doesn't have Firefox. It doesn't even have USB so I can't use a flash drive. I guess it's just a matter of time before the advertisers move on.

addons.mozilla.org. Spend three seconds looking and maybe you'll find it.

Get AdBlock and the "Filterset.G updater" extensions. Bam, no more ads.

My work comp won't allow it and I don't feel like getting in trouble hacking it.
