I really never posted before until now. I have 2 magazine subscritions, CPU (Computer Power User) and of course MaximumPC.

The point is this when i log into CPU website i could download the past and current magazines in .pdf format so i could thow away the huge piles of magazines sitting around and also to have a backup so i could use this as a reference.

is there any possible way that maximumPC will have .pdf format of the magazines for download?

if you do this...you could also set up a web-only subscription where you could only get it in .pdf

i think having it this way is very convenient when on travel and just for saving trees...

who would like to see this happen?

As much as I would like to see that happen I had to vote no. Mainly because it would encourage piracy by letting people freely share it amongst friends and others. People would start to get it for free and stop buying it and then the quality of the magazine would go down because of reduced sales.

how is that different from letting your friends take your maximumPC magazines? CPU magazine has been doing the .pdf's for quite awhile, and their not complaining 1 bit

there is always going to be piracy no matter what action you take...I do agree somewhat in your statement but we have embrace technology.

1 more point...ive searched torrents for CPU pdf's and i came across 3 files. I did the same seach for maximum PC and came across 2 files. Not as widespread as you thought

I'd like to see something different. I just let my subscription expire because I don't want all the mags around and besides the ink is never dry when I get one.

Its always better to have a hardcopy to keep.

When you rip your CD do you throw it away?

If it were up to me, we'd release unlocked PDFs of every issue a couple of weeks after newsstand subscribers get them.

Sadly, it's not. We're working on a couple of projects of interest to you guys though, and a digital version of Maximum PC is one of them. No ETA though. As always, when we're ready to go, you'll hear it here first.

That would be great, you would think that with the best computer mag that it would be available online.

You guys should put out books with the "best of" or the couple main articles in each mag at the end of every year. That would be pretty cool.

Yeah a technology round up that would be pretty cool.....or do a "special" edition magazine to highlight what has changed in the past years

Great Idea!!
