I see it's usefulness, but I can't see it's practice in full. At some point Maximum readers get bored with it all. I mean, there was one issue last year that had pages of free stuff and maybe 5 of them fit any one person at any one time. What was the disc that came with this stuff, became a mag blurb, and the same thing killed both IMO: It's not worth the space in a medium that costs money to produce.
They become "apps", but not for smart phones. There's a plethora of freeware programs a desktop PC could use and freeware has it's nook. I feel if someone has a need for something, it's better found through word of mouth or forums such as this. IMO, most of the FW they posted can be done already and the "program" is just an interface to simplify stuff you can do already without it. HiJack This is freeware, but what do you really do with it? You surely don't delete everything it finds as an alert.
