So within the last few days, typing in maximumpc.com in Chrome and other browsers gets me instantly redirected to stg.maximumpc.com

I found it somewhat interesting... and confusing. Previously, this did not happen.

Can you guys fix the redirects, please? :/ At least have it redirect to www.maximumpc.com

Also, out of curiosity, what does stg stand for?

Seems to be some sort of secure site. A secure FTP maybe?

So it seems. Though, I found it odd that when I went to maximumpc.com as I usually did, that it redirected to that domain.

Sure makes me wonder what it is and why/what changed.

No joke.

Was it a recent change for you, or did you only start getting it when I raised the issue?

I'm trying to remember exactly when it changed... but I can't say for sure.

It seems to be a confirmed issue with others saying the same thing... so it's not a bug, and after much thought on this issue and knowing how servers and the like work... I'd have to say somebody done goofed and inserted a redirect when it shouldn't be there.

Edit: But that's just speculation on my part.

It was a recent change, like yesterday or the day before. I've done the exact same procedure many times before.

Typing in maximumpc.com without the www. in front.

I got the same thing in Chrome. Switched to FF and the problem went away.

Weird.

Ah, that'd be why there seemed to be no response. I should subscribe to MaxPC's FB... I'll do that now. >_>

Yeah, sorry.

Over the weekend we deployed Maximum PC Platinum*. Non-Platinum members weren't ever supposed to know about that login page.

*Note: This is a lie. What actually happened was in the deployment of some site updates, http://maximumpc.com (without the www) was accidentally left pointing to the staging site (i.e. the production environment within which new site features / bug fixes are tested before they go live).
