my monitor has been 'blinking' of late; it will spontaneously go black and often reboot, without any indication anything else is wrong??? I have not installed anything new and am running:
win xp professional sp2
athlon 1gig (yes, I know it's ancient)
abit KT7-RAID mobo (stop laughing, it gets me sympathy!!)
512M memory
Radeon 9500 Pro/ 9700 vid card with 128M
Radius monitor
I have the latest drivers for the mobo, vid card, etc.

You guys are great! Any advice (other than junking the sucker) will be appreciated!

how old is your monitor? if its pretty old, yeah it could be time to get a new monitor whether you like it or not. one thing you can do is use a spare monitor on your computer and see if it does the same thing. if the spare monitor goes, then it could be an issue with the videocard. good luck

Check that your refresh rate isn't higher than what the monitor can handle.

You say that the screen starts blinking then you talk about a reboot...
Is the issue with the monitor restarting... or with the system restarting...

If the system is restarting - it might have nothing to do with your monitor - that might simply be a result of the other...

Also - did it happen prior to SP2?
