Hi all,

I am currently looking to build a Quiet but powerful Intel base PC. The budget is under $2500. Anyone have any suggestions? The following are some of the stuffs that I thought of:

Case: Cooler Master Wave Master (All fans disabled)
PSU: Antec True480 / Phantom 350
Water Cooling: Koolance Exos

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.[/url]

As far as I can tell, all you have to do now is decide which components to buy.

btw, are things you listed included in the budget? If yes, then list the prices!

well if you dont want to use your water cooling on your video card heres a good card thats passivly cooled here
but if you do want to water cool just get a 6800 Ultra. then get a gig or so of ram, crucial and mushkin are my favorite brands. from there i'd get 2 hard drives. one raptor and then a 200GB storage one. and i'd get hard drive coolers or put them in the bottom of your case so they dont over heat. and then for drives i dont know whats quiet but i dont think there will be too much of a difference between drives so get any old brand (lite-on preferred). you didnt really say what the system was for so i'm just trying to point you in the right direction

Buy any PC you want, stick it in the room on the other side of the wall or in a closet, and run an external optical drive to your desk  You'll have to find extensions for your KVM cables though.

Actually speaking of External..

You didn't list the USB devices hooked up to it - depending on the device - each one of those could be pulling on the power of the PSU as well...

Thanks for the reply,

I intended to use this PC for gaming, application development, graphic editing and data storage. I am looking to purchase a socket 478 mobo with onboard Gigabit Lan, PCIE/PCI combo, 4x SATA, 2 ATA and DDR support. Anyone knows any good motherboards that have this kind of features?

uhh pal there is no pci-e socket 478 board, you either need to get an agp socket 478, or a more feature rich lga 775 socket which has pci-e, also the koolance exos is not exactly the quietest water cooler in the land and you will have to buy extra hosing and things for your gpu, unless you buy a bfg 6800u prepped for water cooling, i would recomend that you ditch the water cooling, because it will take a nice chunk out of your budget and you will still have a noisy pc due to the 3 fans on the exos.
