no benches yet or anything, but here's some specs on the $200 6600gt, to see how it compares to other $200 cards. it looks like from these prices and increases in speed that nvidia is looking to completely phase out their older cards :o not that that's a bad thing.

lets hope the 6600gt can outrun the 5950u :D IMO that would mean mission successful.

this has me wondering... which would be better, 2 6600gt's with SLI or a 6800gt? the price would be the same (without regard to the insane price of a 2 16x pci-x motherboard, lol -- not to be making assumptions or anything, but i've got a feeling nvidia is gonna make sure we can have that with their nforce4 line of chipsets).

ATI really needs HL2 to be released and to show favorable benches. nVidia, quite simply, is showing all the right stuff at every price point lately.

Can't wait to see the benches on the 6600GT.

i am also interested in how the 6600 GT turns out...i have serious doubts about the 6600 non GT model. The best part is it makes all the other stuff drop it price.

You got that right. I wish cars depreciated as quickly ... I'd love someone to sell me their '98 Jeep TJ for pennies 'cause it was obsolete.

sigh
