Sooooo...the way I read that: AMD denies that there will be no new card, but the 7xxx series is their focus for some time now. So a 7999 card is possible, that would be "new", but not really debunking the "myth" that an actual new series will not be released in 2013.

Kinda smells like nVidia and their 9800GTX+/250GTS era. Same card, different name. Here, they're just saying they're not changing names either.

Don't believe anyone until AMD themselves say something. People will generate FUD just to stir up a conversation point. It happens in the video game world, I wouldn't be surprised if it happens in the computer world.
