Maximum PC

I'm sorry if this isn't the place for this question but, I couldn't think of a better forum. At any rate my questions is as follows.

If I intend to use my LG TV (1080p 120hz etc..) as the main monitor for my PC would I need to run a Crossfire setup so that everything is play smoothly or will one video card be enough? The video card(s) I am planning on using is GIGABYTE Radeon 7970 3GB. I figured the one card would be powerful enough for the job but, I've never used my TV as the monitor before and don't know what is needed to make it run at the optimum performance. Any advice on the matter would be most appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

You can drive two monitors flawlessly with a crappy Intel HD2000, if that makes you feel any better.

And it doesn't matter what you're driving on the other end, the cable is just sending picture data.
