Hoping this qualifies for the hardware thread. Here's my situation. I have an old mobo hooked up to a couple old IDE drives. I purchased an external sata drive a while back and then the dog got hold of the 12v power supply right at the neck that plugged into the back of the external enclosure. Couldn't find another power adapter to replace it, so I removed it from the enclosure and decided to use it in a raid array.
I bought a 2-port 1st gen sata controller card. My question is this: What do I need to do to get power to the drive? I have a couple free molex male ends coming from my power supply, but I wasn't able to find molex female to sata male adapters. Suggestions? Also, are these types of power adapters unidirectional?
