After looking at the title, you're probably wondering "
what kind of matchup is that?" Well, I'm about to order a laptop, the
ASUS Zenbook Prime UX32VD. This ultrabook comes with the Nvidia GT620M, so there's one part of the title explained. Now, I've already determined that every component in this ultrabook is better than my desktop (it's pretty old) except for my graphics card which I updated to a
Gigabyte Radeon HD 6450 last year on Black Friday. Now I'm just wondering if it's even worth using my desktop JUST for gaming or not. Could someone help me out on this?
Also, I know that some of the differences that make one GPU better than another are core clock, memory clock, memory amount, memory type, and memory bandwidth (i.e. 64-bit). I'm pretty sure that there are other factors, but I just don't know what they are. I'd appreciate it if someone clarified the other differences for me.
