Maximum PC

I have been considering what to do for my next build, when I stumbled across professional graphics cards, specifically AMD/ATI line of crossfire supported professional graphics cards. what the the practicality of using a professional graphics card (or possibly two) to run four 58 inch 1080p led lcd tvs on a gaming rig would be...
any ideas, suggestions, input, criticism, or just general responses would be much appreciated.

Don't do it. You're looking at living room uses out of a Professional card used to do work. PC's aren't macs and shouldn't be confused. "Pro" parts don't make them better...they're actually for professionals. Damn the irony.

Two GTX 560Ti's (Craigslist, $150 if you hunt for them...GTX 460 if not found) can run four 1080i screens. It doesn't matter if it's 2" or 1,000,000"...it's 1080i and a video card just has to push them pixels (1080 is the pixels).

Depends on what inputs your TV's have though. I'm sure they HDMI, but most video cards have only one HDMI out and two DVI. AMD has some great cards with a CRAP LOAD of HDMI outs that can handle this with just one video card. The big one is Asus with something like 10 HDMI's out or something...silly.

Professional graphics cards aren't for general consumer use. They're only good for CAD and compute acceleration, and even then a consumer card could probably do it (I think it's just because graphics cards use registered memory).

Anyway, if you want to drive two 1080p displays for an entertainment center, even a $100-$150 card could do it.
