Hi.
I'm using an old Athlon for a project I'm making and I have no clue what the pin out is... I have a diagram, but I don't know what the acronyms mean. I'm looking for the main DC voltage in and the ground. Hoping that will make it heat up?
Thanks.

Well, I've read up on most everything I can, I just don't understand which pins are which! I need a simple answer. I'm not an electrical engineer. I don't know whether VCC1-101 is voltage or ground and if it will actually do what I want. I have no clue what all those abbrieviations stand for.I have the datasheet, I just don't know how to read it....

Old Athlon is a bit vague. Can you narrow it down to a specific model, or at least a socket? We could be talking about socket A, 754, 939, or AM2. Different pin-outs for different CPU's and sockets...

Read section 5 on pin description. Once you understand the abbreviations it should be easier to interpret the datasheet which can be found in section 4. Be certain that your processor is oriented in the same fashion as the printed pinout in the datasheet...

These guys will help you into the ground...and that's a good thing on their part! "What you want to do" with that pin out can be dangerous to us without knowing what that is. Maybe the hundreds of us can assist in the effort, or maybe a few describe that pin out and hope you figure out what ever it is you're doing with that mysterious socket.

In 2012, I'm hesitant to help people with CPU pin-outs; and others should too. Whatcha doing?

Pretty straight forward. Given the age of the part may as well light it up, no?

You can easily overclcok it into oblivion, you don't need pinouts for that.
