I just picked up a EVGA GTX560Ti SC and it seems when it is folding it emits a constant beeping sound. It s short beep that happens at roughly 2sec intervals the sound is low but annoying. Just thought I would see any one else has had this issue.

I didn't know video cards were capable to emit their own sound... Sure it's not from the mobo? Personally, I would return/RMA it. (Guess you have to put GPU folding on hold..)

could be a bearing in the fan, that is the only moving part in a video card. there is no speaker to beep, so if its a used card with no warranty, put a drop of oil in the fan bearing (peel back the sticker in the middle of the fan to expose the bearing) most any good oil, sewing machine, not a 3in1 type oil, I use mobile 1 synthetic oil. if its a new card, rma it. isolate the noise or beep first. turn the fan speed down with precision or something to see if it changes the noise.

I'm gonna do some more digging on it today to see if I can find something. The only reason I know its the GPU is the fact that when I turn the folding GPU client off it goes away. I just down loaded some benchmarks to see if it will do it during the time I run them.

Some of the members over on the EVGA forums said that it was common and that is was "coil whine". Here is the link so you guys can see for your self. https://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=1385373 the coil Idea is one thing but another idea was a vibrating cap. I have never heard that one before and it seems a bit far fetched IMO but what do I know.
any way just thought you guys should see the response from the EVGA forums too.

So from what I gather, shouldn't that be a PSU issue? Might want to look up reviews for your see if anyone else experiences anything similar.

I localized it to the PSU. I found if I put my ear on the area right near the switch I can hear it. The funny thing is it only happens when I'm folding on the GPU which doesn't really stress it that much. So I stopped the folding on it for now :( I still have the trusty i5 running like champ though. I tried to stress test it with PC Vantage but no luck getting it to make the beeping sound. I hope the PSU doesn't have a problem it is less than a year old and its not even being stressed.

If it's less than a year old, it doesn't matter what brand it is, it should still be under warranty. If there is anything wrong with the PSU, send it back.

And in addition to oil for lubing fan bearings, a can of silicone spray with the nice little plastic straw applicator is convenient, and works nicely.
