I'm planning on upgrading soon but my video cards are toast. my system is:

evga nforce 680i LT sli with an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 775 Quad-Core Processor.
link for mb info http://www.nvidia.com/object/designed_b ... t_sli.html
I have 2 partially bad video cards that are
EVGA 512-P3-N802-AR GeForce 8800GT Superclocked 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported

and a 650W sli ready power supply

Also should I play the waiting game on the ivy bridge cpu, MBs and gtx680 or bite the bullet and upgrade now?

I'd get a cheap 20-45$ graphics card like a GT430 or a 520 now, and upgrade to the 680 after it comes out. It'll play Source games (Half Life franchise, Portal series, Gary's Mod, TF2) on good settings, and some Unreal Engine 3 games (Tribes: Ascend) on low-medium settings. This'll keep you until the 600 series comes out in a few months.

Yep.
Been on vacation, and missed it. I didn't read any tech stuff for 3 days, and I managed to miss it. I feel terrible.
