Hi, I encountered a problem with trying to record my music once again. I recently build a new rig that runs on win7, for some reason, when I enable stereo mix, it is only for the main board sound, I want it from the soundblaster X-fi card. Is anyone out there with a solution to my problem. I am a bit irriated, I am having a hard time with the combinaton of hardware and os as far as recording goes.

I had a similar issue in Vista.

"In order to record off the sound card, it may be necessary to right click the "Recording devices" window to ensure that "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices" are checked. By selecting "Stereo Mix" as the recording source, it should be possible to record whatever goes through the sound card. See below for an illustration."

well, I was really mad that I couldn't do exactly that. Heres what s going on, on the recording devices, it will pick up real tex sterieo mix; but it will not pick up sound blaster X-fi sterieo mix. i've tried to reinstall the old software and drivers, but had no success. I don't want to do any digital to analog deals, so is there anything that I can do?

Did you disable the RealTek onboard stuff in your BIOS when you uninstalled the RealTek drivers? and THEN install the Soundblaster card & drivers?

I'm having this same problem. I've tried the "Show Disabled Devices" but the "What U Hear" or "Stereo Mix" devices don't appear. I've tried disabling the microphone and that doesn't help either.

I have a Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCIe soundcard installed. When I first installed the software that came on the CD, there were some features missing in the Console Launcher. Like 5.1 surround sound, 3D effects, EAX, etc. The console launcher was also locked into Entertainment Mode. The Mode button was missing and I couldn't switch to Gamer Mode or Audio Creation Mode.

Then I downloaded the drivers and software from Creative's website and I gained a few features but the Gamer and Audio Creation modes were still missing. And the "What U Hear" is still missing. I've never had this much trouble with Creative before. Are some of these feature disabled unless you buy the $300 Titanium Fata1ty card?

I found a list of cards that work with What U Hear.

http://support.creative.com/kb/ShowArti ... =obj(87127),kb=ww_english_add,varset=ws:http://us.creative.com

Unfortunately the X-Fi Xtreme Audio is not on that list. I ran to Best Buy and bought the X-Fi Go Pro for $40. After I installed it, the What U Hear appeared in the Recording devices window.

Edit: I guess the link got cut off. Just go to Creatives website, click on Support then Soundblaster, then your soundcard. Search the knowledgebase for "What U Hear" and then click on the first result.

Alright, I finally got to it, I uninstalled the old MB sound driver (I forgot the name) and leaving only Soundblaster installed, I still haven't been able to record what I hear. Here's the card that I have...
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... No=3594531
and here is what I came up with from Creative's site...
http://support.creative.com/kb/ShowArti ... eative.com.

What I will try to do is download the old driver and see what happens. This is a bit frustrating. :x
