Hi i'm after a beginner's DSLR. i'm from Australia so please don't link me to somewhere like newegg or amazon etc.
when i say beginner's SLR i mean no experience with an slr other than an odd sot on a friends 550D and technical words like exposure, shutter speeds, f stops and aperture have basic definitions ie(exposure-how much light goes in camera) or none at all . i've narrowed it down to either Nikon's D3100, D5100 or Canon's 600D, based on pricing ,features and preferences for the brands. i'd like to shoot almost everything and everywhere (city, home, beaches, parks, camps, holidays, parties and other stuff) both video and photo. Full HD is a want for me. my budget is about the price for those cameras but cheaper is better right now. i'd like to pick up photography as a hobby so it has to be durable with room to grow for me while still being simple enough for friends and family to use.

ohh is a 55-200mm recommended buy? as right now if i buy a twin lens kit it seems cheaper than to buy an extra lens after.
