Maximum PC

Hi, I want to get a really good graphics card. I have the GeForce GTS 250 and I want a card that supports DirectX 11. I'd like to get the best card that my system can run while getting full capacity out of the graphics card.

My system specs are:

Operating System: Windows 7
Motherboard: Asus M3N72-D

I'm just trying to see if I can run any of the following cards
GeForce GTX 580

I'm pretty sure I can run the GTS 450 but I'm hoping I can do better.

Any input and recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Or what should I look for to know, so I could answer my own question? I've seen requirements for watts and it seems like 750 is enough, I'm sure 8GB of Ram is enough, I just don't know if 2.8GHz Dual-Core Processor is good enough. I asked on Yahoo Answers and a guy told me since the slots on my Motherboard are so old I probably have an old CPU as well so it would bottleneck and be a waste of money to buy a really good card.

Your mobo specs say you have a 16x slot (or two 8x), so your fine there. If money is no object then grab the GTX 580. Just make sure you have a 6 and a 8-pin connector available.

Dunno about "the slots being too old" that's a bunch of giberish. Unless they are PCIe 1.0 then I agree. But yes your CPU is going to hurt performance of a top notch card like the 580. I would personally just save some more cash and build a better system later. Also, the new line up of cards should be coming out Q4 of this year, along with the new Ivy Bridge.

The GTX 560 SOC from gigabyte is pretty sweet and already max overclocked for $250 on the egg. I would look into that to get you satisfied for the time being. The reviews for it put it on par with the GTX580 reference card for frame rates on a single monitor.
