I have a question about Cuda and Stream Processors. Do they basically do the same function. Like transcoding videos using the GPU rather using the CPU to do the task. I heard it quicker to render with CUDA cores if I'm doing animation if the software is optimize to do it. Does that also apply to Stream processors?

Yeah, they both do basically the same thing. The problem is having something that takes advantage of the graphics processor. Only certain applications will actually make use of hardware accelerated encoding of videos.
