Was just wondering how bottle necked my gtx 470 is by my processor, which is a athlon x2 6000+ (dual 3.1ghz)
i use the computer mostly for folding, but occasionally game( starcraft2, and WOW style games mostly)
would a newer processor such as a Phenom II X4 925(2.8ghz) benefit the card and increase frame rates? and would it be enough to notice on screen?
(only reason i mention that particular processor is that's the fastest 95w cpu my mobo supports)
and if its relevant at all i am running windows 7 64bit with 4gb of el cheepo ebay ram, some 500gb sata drive, and have the computer hooked up to a 27" lcd tv( vga currently until i get an extra hdmi cable)
something is wrong with your machine... you have a GTX 470 and a dual 3.1 Ghz + 4GB RAM..........and ur getting low FPS on ur game @ 720p ? Cuz my video card is even lower spec than yours (GTX 260 which is 2 years older than GTX 470) and AMD X4 Phenom II + 4GB RAM and I am getting about 45 FPS on Battlefield Bad Company2 @ 1080p and 8AA/16AF resolution.
