I was just reading a review that mentioned this. This was the first mention I have seen. Does anyone know If that is true? If so I will scrap my idea of buying them. I know they support normal sli but i will only buy new cards that I can run three of. Do the 465s support it? thanks.

Ummm...OK. I don't know what you're reading, you're freaking out, so I don't know how to calm you one bit. The GTX470 has ONE golden connection up top, so it's physically impossible to do three. Any picture of one shows us that. It's simple SLI or nothing. We don't need reviews to tell us that as consumers.

So, you need three of these eh? And in TRI-SLI? I'm willing to bet you don't. So let's sit on uncle Chumly's couch and discuss why you can't run one card and yet feel the need for $700 worth of investment in no less than 3 cards.

Deep breaths Haha. Ok so currently I have 2 260s and one 285. I want to have three of the same gpus in my comp to br able to run tri sli. I know I don't need that to run any game but folding is my main reason for having that many. I know I don't need sli to fold but like I said I want the gaming option. If I cant tri sli the 460s though if they don't support that. Then I'll stick with my odd config for awhile and mabey switch what I have for 2 470s but since that was a similar price and ppd favored the three cards vs two..
This was the quote " Being a mid-range product, only 2-way SLI will be allowed and thus you'll only see a single SLI finger/connector on the PCBs."

Just looked it up on the green giants web site. No dice only supports sli. Oh well that puts that plan out. Guess I'll have to think up something else. Might hold off for awhile and hope they come up with another refresh. I think I heard something was coming up soon so I hope it has the tri sli ability. At least I won't have to deal with selling the old cards for awhile. Still might think about 2 470s.... :?

gtx 460 only supports dual card sli. 465, 470, and 480 all support tri-sli

Yeah i dont really know what im going to do now. Ill prob hold off on buying now :(. Its too bad cause i would have thought since the sli set up seemed to scale so well that the tri sli would be amazing, wasnt ment to be i guess. So gtx 470... uses power like a hog, and costs about 100 bucks more per card. I have an 850 watt power supply would that be enough to run just dual card sli 470s? I might just wait for another gf104 variant to come out and hope it supports it since i heard something about a new one coming out soon with more clusters enabled.

You can just put two of the 460s in SLi and run the third loose... what's the difference between 100FPS and 120FPS anyways?
