so heres my dillema..i can run 2XGTS 240's in SLI..or i can run a single 8800GTX and a GTS 240 for Physx.

which setup would be better?

my resolution is 1920X1080..http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009245

the only game i am currently playing is ModernWarfare 2

with the 8800GTX..the games seems a bit choppy from time to time...i have all setting maxxed out ingame and in the Nvidia Control panel

GTS240 = 9800GT

Yes, I would say the SLI'd 240s would give better framerates in general...

What CPU are you using? How much Ram? Reason I ask is cuz a buddy of mine maxes MW2 at 1680x1050 using an 8800GTS 512... which is practically equal to an 8800GTX at that resolution.

AlienWare Aurora
i7 930(overclocked to 3.372..running at a cool 25 Celcius) Water cooled
80 gig Intel SSD boot drive
1T Caviar Black
2X 750 gig HDD non raid
12 gigs of Crucial Ballistix Ram
X-FI Fatality Sound card
currently i have a GTS 240 for Physx and a 8800 GTX

P.S

regardless of what graphics card i have in there i still get the highest FPS..which is 91

i'm looking for quality gameplay, and this monitor is fairly new to me..i was on a 19" 1680X1050

like i said the gameplay seems choppy at times with the 8800 GTX,and i havent ran the GTS 240's in SLI with this Monitor.

Reading is eccential aint it, overlooked the "S" there. Yes the GTS240s in SLI would make for the better setup. But going with say a GXT460 and using 1 GTS240 for Physics would be even better.

remember i have 2X GTS 240's..not the GT 240.

the GTS 240 is an OEM GPU.

Seeing as you're using an OC'd 930, why don't you just use the CPU to run PhysX? It's capable of it, just use the nVidia control panel to set it. I'm using dual 8800GTX's in SLI and have my Q9550 doing the PhysX and all my games run awesomely.
