I have read that buying monster cable HDMI is a waist of money. So I bought some basic HDMI cables from Micro Center, sorry I don't remember the name but I do remember they cost $22.00 for a 6.5 foot cable. The picture looks great to me and I am happy with the picture but this is my first HD TV so I have nothing to compare it to.

My question is could the picture quality improve with a "better" (more expensive) cable. Again Monster Cable is out of the question in terms of price. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

P.S. found out the name of the cable I am using the company name is HDAV, it may be Micro Center's house brand.

No. The picture quality will not increase.

The only real time to go with a more expensive cable is when you need a really long run, but you are better off looking at HDMI->CAT5E/6->HDMI transmitters.

You can actually go cheaper on the cables.

One great place to check is monoprice.com
