This review by Bjorn3D has some very interesting information and points out some interesting possibilities. I would have preferred he went into more details on the actual setup of Eyefinity. I don't mean physically setting up the monitors, that's just a matter of mechanical engineering. Although these folks usually tell you if they have any real problems with software/hardware setup.

I know that there will be the naysayers dismissing it out of hand. But most, I believe, just say this because they themselves can't afford it. Or it is to difficult to figure out how to mount all the hardware and hook it up without someone handing them a set of 8th grade level instructions and drawings for $5 and pre-assembled rack for $25.

I can't afford it but if I could I would in a heart beat. Even acknowledging that there are still some problems/issues to deal with. There is, it seems, also a lot of flexibility with what you can do with the monitors.

I also note the comments concerning nVidias "solutions". It seems at least at this point that if you want the best AMD is the way to go.

Anyway enjoy and feel free to go into a rant or rave as the mode moves you.

While I'm at it here are 2 more reviews. These are heavy on providing real world gaming performance results.

Not much of a review, but this one's more of a cheaper setup - instead of using th3 $100 DP (active) adapter, you can get a 30$ passive that works. i use the same adapter in this setup/review, and so far no issues.

This adapter is just a Bizlink passive display port to VGA adapter that is released by HP. It's about $30. You can get them as cheap as $20, but I wanted one that I knew worked, and it's well documented that this HP adapter works perfectly. I got mine from CostCentral, it was $28 there. The part number is AS615AA. You can find it in a lot of different places. Just search that number and find a place with free shipping or a low shipping rate and you're golden.

This one's more of a review, sort of, but it has benchmarks and screenshots of some nice games.

I used these two places to convince me that i should get into the eyefinity setup...and i am glad i was able to finish it before my job's hours were cut.

Yeah I agree. I found that review in the OP and passed it along mainly for the info on what was possible and the basics of how it works. I'm sold on it if and when I have the money to spare. It seems thqt there are still some that doubt the capabilities of the system. Acknowledging the few problems still to be worked out.

the other 2 links were a bit older but besides the informsation on EyeFinity, did some good review work showing performance data at the higher resolutions using a variety of cards and a BUNCH of games.
