Is there a limit as to how many inline ethernet couplers I can use on a single line?

I was trying to run an ethernet cable (Cat5) from one side of my house to another and the cables I used came up short. To get the desired length, I had to connect 4 cables using 3 ethernet couplers (total length roughly 100feet).

I am now concerned that I may have degraded my singal to noise ratio but I have no way to testing this.

I don't know that there's a hard rule about how many you can have on a single run, but pretty much every coupler that I've seen is a pretty low budget build. They have a tendency to add crosstalk which hampers performance, and introduce more potential points of failure.

You can get a 100 ft Cat 5 cable from monoprice for $8 plus shipping, and from newegg for not much more. Save yourself future headaches.
