Hey guys, I'm looking to setup a wireless network for my computer and my Xbox 360.

For my computer I've decided to go with the D-Link DIR-655 router since everyone seems to recommend it. Unless their is something better out their.

However I am at a loss for what network apapter I should get for my Xbox 360. I decided against purchasing a official Xbox network adapter since their way overpriced. So I'm not sure if I should get something with g standard or if I should go with a n standard. My computer is only 10 feet from my Xbox and I'll be primarily be using it for multi-player games and streaming movie via Netflix. Any suggestions would be awesome.

The WGA600N wireless gaming adapter from linksys (on sale for 79.99 at newegg) will do exactly what you want it to. It'll connect to your wireless network at N speeds and it just hooks into the back of the 360 with ethernet cable. I've had one for about a year now and it works perfectly for streaming HD netflix and playing games. Plus you can use the linksys adapter to connect anything with an ethernet port to your wireless network, so if you have more than one device that needs network access you can connect them to a switch and then plug the switch into the WGA.

Thanks for the tip. I'll wait till around Black Friday and hopefully it will go down even lower but that sounds like the wireless adapter that I'll get.

How do i connect my xbox 360 up to xbox live? I purchased an xbox 360, the basic core one and a few months later i purchased a 60GB hardrive. I have wireless broadband with virgin media for my laptop. I wondered how i get my 360 up and running to xbox live, i know i have to purchase a 1 year subscription gold xbox live card but do i need to buy anything else?

To able to get onto Xbox live you only you don't need to purchase the 1 year subscription. The 1 year subscription is just for people who want to play multiplayer.

The only other thing you'll need is either the Xbox 360 Wireless network adapter or something like the WGA600N that was discussed earlier in this thread.

As for how to set up your Xbox 360 to your network you might want to take a look at Xbox 360's support page.
