Whats the difference between CAT5 and CAT5e?
Are they compatable with each other?

CAT5e supports gigabit ethernet I believe.

They both support Gigabit Ethernet.

Cat 5e has a higher twist to inch ratio then Cat 5, but it doesn't make it any faster.

There's a web page that lays all this out somewhere, I'll see if I can dig it up later
