I'm looking for a media player application that can buffer video so I can stream it over my 802.11b wireless network using standard windows shares (or not, if there's a better solution). The video looks rather choppy when I stream it over wireless, even though task manager shows less than 1% network utilization when I stream it through ethernet. This is DivX, DVD-quality video, bitrates are about 1000 kbps or less, which 802.11b should be able to handle just fine.
VLC media player is supposed to have this option, but I think it only works for URLs. It treats networks shares the same as local.
