What is currently the best wireless router? I need a good router that supports both wired and wireless connections for Internet sharing.

I have three computers. I have two downstairs that can be wired together. Then I have one upstairs that needs to be wireless to access the Internet. I also share files a lot between systems.

many linksys (maybe all?) are firmware hackable, making for a router that can have twice the features you are buying. I'd suggest reading up on that.

I like that Linksys as well. I went one up on that model with the WRT54G, but may have been a waste of the additional $20.

It works great with the PC with the WMP54GS W/NIC...but that's the only PC with that card and thusly the only one that has the "boost". I've recently added a P5AD2-E Premium wireless to the network, and it can't take advantage of the GS's boost, so I would have been fine with the normal WRT54G.

$50 isn't too bad at all either. Just about every local store around here is asking at least $75 that I've ran across.

Does that router allow simultaneous wireless and wired networking? I only have 1 PC that needs to have a wireless connection to the router. My other 2 PC's will be wired to the router.

Is D-link DGL-4300 the only good gaming router? Do other companies make them?

So since it has an antenna and ports in the back, that means it supports both? I've never used a wireless router before.

Just go and in a PCI wireless card and you'll be fine.
