I've set up a wireless network using a DLink GI-624 Wireless Router with a DLink GWL-G650 card for my laptop, and a DWL-G520 for my desktop. The machines are connecting to the router, but the router will not accept my cable broadband connection. I've reset the router twice and ran the wizard to configure it with no luck. It will not work when I "plug in" to one of the LAN ports either. Any ideas?

try updating the router's firmware and see if you get any connection.

Have you recently removed a lot of spyware from any of your systems?

I had a client who's laptop was chock full of it and when I removed it, he could no longer connect to the internet, when I restored the spyware (new feature in Ad-Ware SE) it was able to connect again.

unplug your modem and your router from the power

make sure your router has a cat 5 plugged into its WAN port and running to the modem

Power up the cablemodem and wait until its online. THen power up the router.

Run a cat5 from the router to your computer and turn it on.
