I have looked all over the place for this info but am clueless on how to narrow my search using google of ther methods.

I just wanted to know what the signal that is being carried over an ethernet cable is like. I know that the RX+ and RX- act as a differiental pair and so on, but I do not own an oscilliscope to find out.

Is the signal a square wave? Sine? is the signal 5V peak to peak? 12V? what is the frequency of the signal for 100mb, 10mb, or even 1000mb?

If any of you know anything, it would help me settle some curiosity, and hobby work.
