Hello,
I have a small server here the specs are:
P3 866MHz
512MB PC133 RAM
2x 160GB Maxtor HDD in RAID 1
Soyo 7VCA motherboard.
Netgear NIC
We are using a D-link 5 port switch.

The problem is when I open MS Access, it takes FOREVER!! Ok, it more like takes 1-2 minutes. Is this normal?

The above server also acts as a printer server. When I go to print from my computer (not the server), it also takes 1-2 minutes before it will start printing.

What can i do to speed these up?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

It is using Windows XP SP1 Pro as the OS. The server is on the same network as the other computers, all connected with the D-Link Router. I have 3 other computers on the same network.

If the speed of your switch is 100 Mb/sec full duplex then make sure the NIC on the server is set to the same speed -don't really on "auto" for the speed and duplex settings, it doesn't always work.
