Ok this is driving me nuts

Can anyone suggest a good windows packet sniffer to find out what this is? or is there another way? I know what pc the "owner-pc" is, and if I take it off line the pulses go away, but I would really like to know what is causing it. I have 7 computers on the network, including a windows home server and a HTPC and nothing is causing traffic like I get between these two pc...

ive never really used packet sniffers so im not much help there. if i remember correctly, the microsoft-ds remote port is used for resource sharing. do you have a printer shared with another computer or using a printer that is shared on another unit or mapped network drives?

Wireshark is the go to packet sniffer to use. From those pictures, it's hard to tell what exactly is the cause of the network spikes. Though I did see that a mail program was open, windows live mail. That may be the culprit, since it does automatically check for new mail every so often, though it shouldn't be doing it that often. Could be a number of things. I wouldn't worry about it to much, since the amount of network traffic is relatively small, only 300kbps.
