My modem has been slow lately and I'm not sure why. I did some investigative research and was introduced to my modem's web interface. I have no idea what the numbers mean. Can anyone help? If you see a problem could you please recommend a course of action? I know it's hard to read but it won't let me upload my screenshot.

Actually I should've said this first:
  • We could take those values and make nothing of them. I don't know what a baseline "good" value is for this part, and I wouldn't think anyone else here would. This is something you take to Motorola.
  • Did you try resetting the modem or calling your ISP first?

I called Comcast and their response was "everything is good on our end". So, by that, I'm inclined to believe there's something wrong with my modem. I found online that a value over 100k for the "uncorrectable codewords" is a sign that the modem is dying. But as you can see I have more than 2 channels. So I was generally asking if it should be more or less of a concern than would be otherwise, had it only had a single or dual channel. I'll send comcast a tech support email once I get home from work tonight, see if that helps any. I'll post again once I find out the cause/solution.

ALL ISP's first response is "It's not us". I think first level tech support for these company's are made to recite that line every morning when they punch in. I never speak to 1st level tech anymore. I always demand to talk to 3rd level or a manager. Most people with still try and help you but if you stand your ground and start sounding irritated they all give in eventually. Usually the real Tech person can answer any question I have in about 5 minuets. It normally takes me more time to get the right person on the phone then to get the answer.

For those that don't want to read that long wind: Summarized point Call ISP and be and ass till you get a real answer.

Screw Comcast!!! I talked to them, they said they sent a code to reset my modem, but that I had to do the unplugging of cords. Took 3 resets to get it working again. In the mean time, since I wasn't on a phone that could reach (yes I was on an old corded landline), they hung up on me.

Try changing the DNS addresses in your devices to Google DNS or Open DNS. Your problem could be crappy name resolution services of your ISP - VERY common.
