Hey I hope this is the right forum for this,
I just moved into a new house and I would like to be able to access my computer network from most of the rooms in my house.
I don't really want to have to run Ethernet cable through the whole house, so I did some research into using those adapters you can plug into your wall socket and plug and Ethernet cable into, I'll probably be going that route.
I am leery of broadcasting my network wireless, I don't want someone else to have access to it. Maybe I need to do some more research on how to properly protect and monitor a wireless network to make sure that only I have access to it, but for now I have just been turning off the wireless feature on my router.
I don't watch TV, I usually am just streaming videos online. I would like to be able to stream youtube, and other videos that are on my network or from the internet to the various TV's in my house. I want to do this in the easiest, and most economical way possible.
I was looking into a media player like this:
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.as ... 6815646003Would that do the job? It only has one review on Newegg, does anyone have a reliable recommendation for a media player? If I could I would like to be able to use a mouse and keyboard with it, but it doesn't look like that is possible with out actually building a media PC.
I would appreciate any insight or suggestions as to how to go about this.
