Are all Ethernet cables pretty much the same, I mean like speed and quality. I am going to get a 50ft cable and just want to know if there is a difference between a cable that cost $25.00 and a cable that cost $12.00. Thanks.

As long as you're buying a Cat5 or Cat6 cable, there won't be any difference.

Cat 5e for 10/100/1000MB network, Cat 6 if you want to run very long gigabit runs (100ft +) or want something that'll last through 10 GigE. Don't buy into the "Premium" cable crap. Just a regular Cat 5e cable will be fine for all but a very few home networks. And just in case you see something about 300MHz or 500MHz cable, safe to ignore it for most applications.
