No errors or anything, just saying the connection was initiated, blah blah blah, until the connection was terminated by me because it wasn't working.
So it looks like the connection is never actually completing, the minute or so before it terminates is the two systems trying to negotiate settings and when they can't agree it terminates. Since the two systems are talking, we can rule out all external things like port forwarding on routers, windows firewall, etc. So now I would double and triple check all the settings on both systems and make sure they match. The event viewer on the server may also have something that could shed some light on why the tunnel isn't being established.
And the part you've summarized as "blah blah blah" might actually be something important, especially when compared to what you see in the log at the other end.
