I've been having a hell of a time trying to get DLink's SharePort utility (a program that allows PCs to access the USB port o nthe DIR-655 and other certain DLINK routers) to work with Windows 7. Occassionally, it does, but then quickly disconnects.
I got it to work with Vista and Windows XP, but can't seem to get it to work right with Windows 7. I downloaded the latest version (which I think is version 3.0 from DLink). I even flashed the router's firmware to the latest version with no luck either.
The account I'm using is a limited account, but (if I remember correctly) it didn't work under an Admin account either.
Anyone else having this problem, or any suggestions? I need this to work, and this is the only reason I bought this router rather than a basic Wireless N router that would have been half the price... I needed the shared USB printing. My printer is actually a Panasonic KX-MB271 copier, scanner, printer, but I only care a bout the shared printing support.
